Tin Can Tourists Return to Manatee County, Host 88th Winter Convention, Open House

WHO: The Tin Can Tourists is an organization committed to the preservation and celebration of classic trailers and motor coaches. A renewed club since 1998, the Tin Can Tourists hold annual gatherings in Florida and Michigan with regional rallies spread throughout the U.S. They now have representation in England, France and Japan.

WHAT: The Tin Can Tourist 88th Winter Convention will give members networking opportunities and bring new ideas for motor coach preservation. Guest speakers include Forrest and Jeri Bone, Directors, Tin Can Tourists, and Sharon Kingston, Sales Manager, Bradenton Area Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The Open House allows the public an interesting look into the life of a Tin Can Tourist, and the ability to view more than 40 trailers and motor coaches on display. Standouts include a rare 1937 Pierce Arrow Model B Trailer, a 1947 Westcraft, a 1957 Tour-A-Home, and a 1950 Spartanette Tandem, among others.

WHEN: February 14-17, 2008 – 88th Winter Convention
February 14, 2008 – Guest speakers begin 4 p.m.
February 16, 2008 – Open House 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
