FLORIDA’S GULF ISLANDS OFFER SOME OF THE WORLD'S BEST HOTELS – IT’S OFFICIAL!

Expedia, the world’s leading online travel company, has just released the ‘2007 Insiders Select List’ which highlights the top one percent of more than 70,000 hotels. Tradewinds Resort in Florida’s Gulf Islands has been ranked among the top 500 in the list, out of only 68 hotels and resorts selected in Florida.

The list is based on overall value, input from local market experts and Expedia.com’s collection of more than 300,000 Traveller Opinions. The hotels were reviewed in terms of value and quality with each hotel given a numerical score out of 100.

Tradewinds Resort
Tradewinds Resort is situated on Anna Maria Island, known for its old Florida charm that is increasingly hard to find in the Sunshine State. The 34 one-bed, one-bath apartment units and two-bed unit provide relaxed comfort and stylish island living including private beach privileges, a spacious pool set at the edge of Sarasota Bay, with an adjoining private dock, great for bird watching, dolphin and manatee sightings and fishing. Prices start from £54 per night for a studio apartment.

Florida’s Gulf Islands are located on the West Coast of Florida, 45 minutes from Tampa and just one and half hours drive from Orlando. The area has beautiful, white sand beaches, wildlife and a string of unspoilt natural islands, comprising what many refer to as ‘hidden Florida’.
