Itinerary No. 2: Eats and Treats, a Culinary Experience
Day One:
Full Day - Apples & Oranges
- Island Creperie – A french café with old world ambiance serving delicious crepes that are made by authentic french chefs
- Rosa Fiorelli Winery – Tour the ten acre vineyard, lunch with the Fiorelli family. You can help bring in the harvest should your visit be at that time of year. Purchase wines to take home, or a gift for a friend from the gift shop.
- Publix – Apron's Cooking School – enjoy an evening with the Chef's of Apron's Kitchen, here you will prepare, eat, and learn to cook a gourmet meal. This Apron's has had famous Chef's from the Food Channel such as Rachel Ray, Paula Dean, and Wolfgang Puck and many more. Not only will you learn to cook the dinner, you will also pair the wines that would compliment that dinner.
- Euphemia Haye – Finish the evening at the Haye Loft for fabulous desserts, and cool jazz music in the lounge.
Day Two:
Morning - Waterfront dining
- Cafe on the Beach – a delicious restaurant right on the beach, looking directly at the Gulf of Mexico. On Sundays, it's all-you-can eat pancakes and sausage, but there are many choices on the menu daily.
- Bradenton Beach – take a stroll down beautiful pristine white sandy beaches, or just sit back and watch the blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Any stress you have will fade away with each wave.
- Rod & Reel Pier – it's time to go fishing, no need for a license, or a fishing rod, they have it all, plus the bait. You can spend an hour, or the rest of the day, with a deli on the lower deck and the Rod & Reel Pier Restaurant up top where you can get a great seafood sandwich.
- Beach Bistro – Zagat's Top Restaurants in America voted the Beach Bistro as the best food on the Gulf Coast. This is where you finish the evening with desserts, fine wine, great music, while overlooking the azure blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
Day Three:
Morning
- Gulf Drive Café – Casual cuisine indoor, or outdoor dining available. You can have breakfast any time of the day. Top-notch food, and top-notch service.
- Manatee Culinary Institute – Tour the Manatee Technical Culinary Institute to see future Chefs learning from the masters. Take a tour of the facility, and join in the class for the morning to see if you have what it takes to be a Head Chef. Enjoy your hard work by joining the class for lunch.
- Mixon's Fruit Farm Eco - Tour – Ride the Orange Blossom express through the orange groves. See the new wildlife refuge for birds and other animals. Stay for a famous "Orange Swirl" ice cream cone.
- Take home some of South Florida's famous citrus, or purchase one of the famous pies made by our local Amish and Minnonite Communities.
